People and Culture Advisor (12-Month Parental Leave Cover)

Are you a proactive HR professional with a passion for driving people-focused initiatives? UAC is seeking a People and Culture Advisor to join our dynamic team for a 12-month parental leave cover. In this role, you will provide expert advice, lead key projects, and help shape initiatives that enhance employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and organisational performance, with a focus on leveraging AI and digital tools to transform HR services

As a trusted advisor, you will be the first point of contact for staff and managers, providing guidance on HR programs, policies, industrial relations, and complex employee matters. You will also take a hands-on role in managing major People and Culture projects, including talent management, learning and development, safety and wellbeing, and supporting our ERP implementation, and exploring AI-enabled solutions to streamline processes and enhance decision-making.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the People Strategy, leading initiatives across recruitment, talent management, learning and development, WHS, and compliance.
  • Provide expert HR advice and support to managers and staff on policies, procedures, UAC’s Enterprise Agreement, and industrial relations matters.
  • Coach managers in complex people management issues, including performance, grievances, and investigations, working closely with external stakeholders when needed.
  • Design, enhance, and deliver training and career development programs, including onboarding, induction, mentorship, and internship initiatives.
  • Provide input to HR committees, including Enterprise Bargaining and Joint Consultative Committees.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline HR systems and processes, leveraging ERP, AI, and other technology to improve service delivery and employee experience.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR functions, trends, and their value to the organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive industrial relations and employee matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including policy development and engaging training delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and AI-enabled tools to enhance HR service delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and high-performing People and Culture function while making a meaningful impact on the organisation.
