In this statement, a reference to

’You‘ or ’your‘ refer to the person giving this consent.

Please read this information carefully.

What information do we need from you?

To be considered for employment or to be updated on employment opportunities, you will need to give us some personal information. This information includes, but is not limited to, your:

  • Name and contact details
  • resume
  • education background
  • employment history
  • referees
  • results of police checks
  • right to work in Australia

If you choose not to provide any of the information requested, we may not be unable to send you information, fully process your application or properly consider you for employment.

All information submitted to us must be true and correct. You must not post or upload inaccurate, incomplete, false or misleading information. Should you wish to change any of your details, this must be done online through your candidate profile. It is your responsibility to keep your information current.

What will your information be used for?

The information you provide on this site is collected by UAC for the purpose of considering you for employment or to update you on employment opportunities.

If your application is successful, we will keep your information  as part of your employment records. Note that employee records are exempt from the Privacy Act (1988)

If your application is unsuccessful, we may keep your information on file and contact you if a suitable employment opportunity arises or if there are other positions available that may be of interest to you.

UAC will delete your information upon request. Please email  jobs@uac.edu.au  if you do not want us to keep your information on file.

How will your information be collected?

We collect information from you when you complete the online application form and at other stages during the selection process. We may also ask you to complete competency testing or medical questionnaires, and to be provide references. We require this information to be able to consider your application within UAC and to contact you to advise of your progress with the selection process.

Where is your information stored?

Your information will be held by a third-party provider Elmo Software Limited A.C.N 102 455 087, who process your information as instructed by UAC and will only be accessed by UAC on a need to know basis.

To provide services to UAC, ELMO also uses a number of subprocessors. Elmo’s privacy policy can be found at  https://elmosoftware.com.au/privacy/ .

Who do we disclose your information to?

We may disclose the information you submit to referees, related companies and entities, recruitment agencies, and other relevant organisations who perform services on our behalf during the recruitment process.

The disclosure of your information is for the purposes of processing your application for employment and/or identifying other employment opportunities for you.

Other than as stated here, we will not disclose personal information you provide to any outside party, except where you provide your express permission to do so.

Any offer of employment will be subject to you obtaining all necessary clearances, licences and permits required for your position. 

Questions and complaints

If you have any questions regarding the privacy of your information or wish to make a complaint because you believe there has been a breach of the Australian privacy legislation, email our Privacy Officer at privacy@uac.edu.au.  

Please note: If you seek feedback because your application is unsuccessful, there may be some information we can’t share with you; for example, if sharing that information will have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others.

Changes to this policy

UAC reserves the right to review and amend this policy from time to time by posting an updated version on this website.
